If you're here, you've probably just received an email address ending in @buttnet.org and did not believe it was real.

It is.

It helps me reduce and organize spam to tell Applebee's that my email address is applebees@buttnet.org, etc.

Not sure what else to do with this domain

I'd always thought it would be interesting to create a microblogging platform for "shitposts" here. Shitposts. Buttnet. Ha. Ha. But it's not magically materialized in the nine years I've had this domain and it's getting less likely every day.

"social media" — the concept of websites that desire to have 100% of the human population as users — is inherently horrible for us both collectively and individually. Creating another would probably be an act of evil.

It doesn't help that all the examples we have are run by the absolute worst ghouls there are on offer.

My wife won't let me stop renewing the domain though, so it's just kind of parked right now.

If you can think of something I should be doing instead, hit me up. Anything at any subdomain of buttnet.org comes to my inbox. :)

Annoyingly, existing email solutions are structured to charge per-inbox or per-username. That isn't how their costs scale. I rolled my own solution to the problem. postfix → smtp relay → gmail

The postfix config files are available upon request. BY NOW IT SHOULD BE PRETTY CLEAR HOW ONE CAN CONTACT ME.
